The promotion currently offer guests a choice of rewards such as ‘double Priority Club® points’, ‘double air miles’, or ‘up to $500 in prepaid gift cards’. The additional partnership between Gowalla and IGH reinforces these offers and prizes when guests "check in."
The promotion with Gowalla runs from now until June 30, 2010, whereby guests who arrive and check-in at participating IHG hotels (such as Holiday Inn® or Crowne Plaza®), will additionally be able to "check-in" on Gowalla via a mobile device to receive reminders relating to gaining rewards with the Hit it Big promotion.
Del Ross, vice president, U.S. Sales and Marketing, IHG says "As our guests increasingly turn toward mobile applications, we want to connect with them in a relevant way and ensure they discover how they can get rewarded for staying with us." InterContinental Hotels aim to be the first hotel company to use Gowalla’s location-based service to market at the intersection of mobile and physical check-ins.
