eTourism Releases Mobile Interface for CMS Customers

Posted on Nov 11th 2011

Today we’re excited to announce the release of our Mobile Interface on the eTourism Content Management System. The eTourism Development Team have been hard at work building an interface that is feature rich but simple to use. This new feature has been rolled out to all existing eTourism clients using iLaunch V2.

51% of business travelers use mobile devices to get travel information, more than double the rate of two years ago. (The Traveler’s Road to Decisions 2011)

This new mobile interface has been optimised for viewing on mobile devices such as the iPhone and Android phones. While many recent phones are capable of displaying your standard website - the small screen size can make it difficult to navigate and quickly look up information about your resort.

The new mobile interface ensures that your website can be accessed quickly and easily by your guests who are not at a desktop computer.

  • Platforms which are supported will be automatically shown the mobile interface for your website, while unsupported platforms will default to the standard version of your website

  • Mobile users can opt to see the standard version of your website

  • Updates to your standard website are automatically visible through the mobile interface

  • Lower bandwidth means your website loads faster on mobile devices with limited bandwidth

  • Easier navigation on mobile devices

We’ve chosen not to force iPad users to experience your resorts website through a mobile interface. The experience of an iPad user viewing your resorts website is as good, if not better, than using a desktop browser. We didn’t want a mobile interface, designed for much smaller screen, ruining this experience.

Available iLaunch Mobile Platforms:

For best experience: iPhone 3GS, Android 2.1, Blackberry 6.0 and above.
