Valentine’s Day happens this weekend, and according to some experts, the emotionally-charged occasion is second only to Christmas when it comes to consumer spending.

If you haven’t yet started planning how to capitalise on this year’s event, it’s not too late to start. Think of great last-minute offers to entice your guests and sweeten their stay this Valentine’s Day.

1. Create Your Valentine’s Offers

You may choose to offer a tempting discounted rate to entice new guests, while up-selling to previous, high-paying guests with a more luxurious package, perhaps including a selection of romantic ‘extras’ such as a spa treatment, gondola cruise or dinner vouchers.

Little touches such as late check-out, complimentary wine and chocolates are sure to impress all segment groups, and if you can tie in your offers with packages or attractions unique to your city, all the better.

2. Distribution

When you’ve finalised your offers, it’s time to promote them.

Don’t forget to take to social media to let your audience know about your irresistible last-minute Valentine’s packages. You might even consider running a fun, romance-themed Facebook contest to drum up attention for your deals.
